“The San Juan Island Years – 2006-2011”
Continues Through Saturday, November 12
Many Islanders attended the Annual Community Theatre Holiday Event in 2011, less than one short year ago. At that time, all could see the joyful expression emanating from Ann's face, as various Islanders tried out-bidding one another on her donated paintings for that event. At another point in time during the auction, Anne was thrilled as bidders competed for “Studio Time with Ann”.
Ann's giving spirit was evident in her love for the theatre and her deep love for IMA and the museum and sculpture park. Ann served on the IMA Exhibition Committee for three years and annually supported the IMA Museum efforts at all three locations in Friday Harbor, and was looking forward to serving on the IMA Capital Campaign Committee to be formed in late 2012.
Prior to passing away, Ann made it quite clear that her life long joy for over 80 years had been to share her art and her paintings. She wanted this IMA Exhibition to be planned prior to her passing, so that she could play a part in the planning. And, as one can see upon visiting the Exhibition, her eye played a significant part in the planning. We hope you feel Ann's presence throughout the Exhibition.

"A Special Tribute to Ann"
Ann requested that all Ann Walbert Memorial Gifts be given to the IMA DEVELOPMENT FUND. Please note below the Memorial Gift.
The muse of painting arrived early in my life and I am ever grateful. My work has been my happiness.
I believe the Pleasure of living with art must be shared. Your life will be enriched through this involvement as one who creates works of art, as one who buys art or simply as one who appreciates art. You will gain new powers of observation and enhance your connection with your world.
--Ann Walbert
