Born in the Hudson River Valley of NY, she attended Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. She studied illustration, painting and printmaking. She received her BFA, and won in the Society of Illustrators student show. After graduation she began exhibiting artwork and freelanced as an illustrator. In 2020, she relocated to Lopez Island.
