About the Event
Aurora Farms grows beautiful, delicious, and nutrient-dense seasonal livestock, vegetables, fruits, berries, and flowers by organic and natural methods. Farmer/rancher Lori Ann David is also a Cordon Bleu-trained chef, bringing a comprehensive perspective on food creation, from planting to plating. All foods will be from the farm, grown, prepared, and consumed in their place of origin. Dinner will be multi-course, prepared from pastured meats, vegetables, and fruits, and served platted and family style in the romantic chandeliered and draped barn. You will get to fully experience the power of "local”.
The Art of Food and Politics will be a discussion throughout the multi-course meal, served in a variety of ways, demonstrating the power of food in our culture.
After dinner Canadian-British artist Zev Robinson, currently exhibiting at the San Juan Islands Art Museum, will discuss his project, “The Art and Politics of Eating” and screen a related documentary short film.
