About the Event

In a celebration of artistic talent across borders and the Salish Sea, the San Juan Islands Museum of Art (SJIMA), in collaboration with Salt Spring Arts and ArtSpring, is delighted to announce the upcoming second phase of the Archipelago: Contemporary Art of the Salish Sea exhibition, set to open on September 22, 2023. This second installment will proudly display the works of six of the finest visual artists working in the Southern Gulf Islands exhibiting in Friday Harbor for the first time across all three galleries at SJIMA.

“This exhibition serves as an opportunity for artists, as well as art centers, to engage in meaningful cultural exchange, foster relationships, introduce our communities to world-class artistic excellence, and form a bit of pride that for such a small specific region, we can celebrate something unique on the global stage…”  - Howard Jang

Exhibiting artists: Anna Gustafson, Joanna Rogers, Jane Kidd, Temoseng Chazz Elliott, John Macdonald, and Sam Montalbetti
