Join us on Saturday, May 2 for this free Family Art Days class!
In this class, young artists and their grown-ups will explore the art of the illustrated word — discovering how letters, words, and text can become powerful visual creations in their own right. Guided by San Juan Island artist and longtime educator John Nippolt, families will learn how to transform words on a page into something that jumps, glows, and comes alive.
John brings decades of experience as a painter, wood carver, writer, and art teacher — including serving as art department chair for a public high school and middle school in Hawaii. He and his wife Candace have called San Juan Island home for ten years. His depth as both artist and educator makes this a class where creativity and craft go hand in hand.
