About the Event

The 14th annual Friday Harbor Film Festival opens with an evening that begins on screen and continues at the museum. SJIMA and FHFF join forces to present two short films by Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Meg Partridge, Director of the Imogen Cunningham Trust and SJIMA Guest Curator.

In Portrait of Imogen (1988, 28 min), photographer Imogen Cunningham presents her own work in her own words, set against more than 250 of her photographs. The film earned an Academy Award nomination. In Outta My Light! Photographer Rondal Partridge (2002, 25 min), we meet Imogen's son Rondal, who learned the darkroom as a child, apprenticed with Dorothea Lange, and assisted Ansel Adams.

After the screening, filmmaker Meg Partridge, who is also the guest curator of the SJIMA exhibitions, joins the audience for a Q&A, followed by a walk-through of the exhibitions at SJIMA.

This event is free, but an RSVP is required. Seating…
