Artist Statement:
This 75-lb. sculpture honors its original 250-lb. boulder. The brownish tinges are from the rind – the outermost, weathered layer. The top tail fin was the boulder’s peak. The broad body of one salmon traces the boulder’s outermost curve. You can almost see how I found the forms inside.
