About the Event
Join us for an evening with Lauren Boilini, the Seattle-based painter whose vibrant large-scale oils fill the Nichols Gallery. Surrounded by the work itself, Lauren will speak about Celestial Navigation — the ideas driving the exhibition, the making of specific pieces, and her journey as an artist.
Hear directly from Lauren about the concept of excess and pattern that runs through her work, the layered narratives she builds into each painting, and the studio practice behind canvases that seem to move. This is a rare opportunity to stand inside the exhibition and listen to the creative mind behind it.
Celestial Navigation is Boilini's first solo museum exhibition and features large-scale oil paintings on linen filled with swirling congregations of birds, insects, and other forms. The show is on view through June 1, 2026.
Free admission. No ticket or RSVP required. Open to all — members and the general public welcome.
