An Artist Talk with Raven Skyriver

Join us in the Sterner Atrium Gallery for an evening with glass artist Raven Skyriver, whose sculptures inspired by the sea have filled the gallery with movement and light this summer as part of Fluid Life: Glass Sculptures Inspired by the Sea, on view through September 14.

Skyriver grew up on Lopez Island in the San Juan Islands, where the marine world around him became the foundation of a body of work almost entirely rooted in ocean life. He trained under mentor Lark Dalton, studied at Pilchuck Glass School, and continued his training under renowned glass artists including Lino Tagliapietra before joining the William Morris team from 2003 until Morris's retirement in 2007. Since establishing his own studio, he has taught and exhibited internationally, from Japan to Norway, Italy, Denmark, and Turkey.
