Exhibition: BAYS AND TIDES, A PAINTERLY VISION by Kurt Solmssen

These images are of people and places near and dear to me, in and around our home on Vaughn Bay, at the southern reaches of Puget Sound.  Painting and drawing directly from life is essential. Being on location immerses you in sensual information that is not captured by photography. The paint quality, the variations of the painted surface, arrived at through trial and error, hopefully, delivering an emotional impact for the viewer.
