Two Films, Screening on the Hour
Meg Partridge — daughter of Rondal Partridge and granddaughter of Imogen Cunningham and Roi Partridge — is not only the guest curator of Convergence & Divergence, but an accomplished documentary filmmaker in her own right. Her films offer an intimate, personal window into the lives of the three artists whose work fills the Nichols Gallery.

(1988, 28 minutes)

A highly personal conversation with one of the 20th century's greatest photographers. In this evocative film, more than 250 of Imogen Cunningham's photographs are presented in her own words, drawn from archival interviews recorded in her late eighties, revealing her sharp wit. A 1988 Academy Award nominee.


Outta My Light! Photographer Rondal Partridge
(2002, 25 minutes)

Rondal began helping his mother, Imogen Cunningham, in the darkroom at age five. At seventeen he apprenticed with Dorothea Lange, driving California's back roads as she photographed migrant laborers, then assisted Ansel Adams in Yosemite — yet wears this lineage lightly.
