THE PULSE OF WATER

September 3 - December 7, 2020

ATRIUM

June Sekiguchi

The Pulse of Water – Sekiguchi’s large scale, immersive installations involve manipulating material that is pattern based, modular and site responsive. She is particularly interested in metaphors that lead to the intersection of science, spirit and art. Forms and surfaces that help her address cultural identity, cross cultural exchange, and personal narratives intrigue Sekiguchi the most. She says, “I explore diversity and commonality of cultures through the interplay of surface pattern and structural form with a deeper meaning of pattern in humanity, and more intimately, personal patterns of habit.”
