“Non-human creatures captivate me--the beauty of their perfect adaptation to the environment, thus their inseparability from the natural world. I am fascinated by the human encounter with the spiritual world, archetypes throughout all cultures, and how we as humans reason our existence in the world.” - Andrew Shewman
a visitor wrote: "Sunday is a great day to visit the museum. It’s about a five or six minute walk up Spring Street from the ferry. The exhibition subject was “Deep Dive” about whales and the life of the Salish Sea. It’s a very beautiful upscale contemporary museum with very well hung exhibitions. There was also a film upstairs, a loop with ballet translations of orca movement, which was twenty minutes long. I especially loved the glass room at the front of the museum with five bamboo sculptures hanging in suspended wonder."
