As part of the 2025–26 Artists’ Registry Show, San Juan Islands Museum of Art invited participating artists to share their work in their own words—standing in front of the very pieces now on view in the galleries.

We’re pleased to announce the release of a new artist interview video series, featuring 20 local artists reflecting on their materials, process, inspirations, and the ideas that shape their work. These short, 2–5 minute interviews were filmed on site at the museum and have been brought together in a full-length compilation, with individual interviews also available to watch on their own.

Together, the interviews offer a behind-the-scenes look at the creativity, craft, and lived experience that define the Artists’ Registry Show. From explorations of place, memory, and nature to deeply personal reflections on making, each artist brings a distinct voice—creating a rich portrait of the artistic community in San Juan County.

Watch the Artist Interviews

You can view the full interview compilation or explore individual artist interviews on SJIMA’s YouTube channel. Whether you watch straight through or return to individual conversations, the series offers a deeper connection to the artwork and the people behind it.

Visit the Exhibition in Person

While the interviews offer valuable insight, there’s nothing like experiencing the artwork in person.

The 2025–26 Artists’ Registry Show is on view now through February 23, presented across all three SJIMA galleries and featuring work by 114 local artists in a wide range of media.

🗓 Museum Hours:

Friday – Monday | 11:00 am – 5:00 pm

We invite you to watch the interviews, then visit the museum to see the work up close, spend time with the details, and experience the full scope of this annual celebration of local creativity.
