SJICF Matching Grant Program

See what the San Juan Island Community Foundation (SJICF) is doing at the virtual County Fair this year!

The San Juan Island Community Foundation hosts an exciting matching grant program at the San Juan County Fair each year. When it again became necessary to move to a virtual county fair in 2021, the SJICF staff found creative ways to keep the matching grant program alive. A virtual fair matching grant program will be launched during the days of the fair, August 18-22. We are honored that the online grant catalog will include the San Juan Islands Museum of Art and would love your support. Learn more at their site at www.sjicf.org to view the SJICF Nonprofit Fair Catalog and read about island nonprofit organizations and their activities and needs. The annual fair matching grant program is one way to connect donors with the tireless work of the many nonprofits enriching lives on our island.

The catalog opens on Wednesday, August 18 and SJIMA will then be sending out our unique link to this program.

As a special bonus, each donor donating will have a chance to enter a drawing for an additional $1000 to be awarded to a featured nonprofit of their choice.

SEE YOU AT THE FAIR!

Conversation with Beckwith & Fisher

The renowned trailblazing photographers share their adventures and review their photographs and book, African Twilight Vanishing Rituals & Ceremonies. The presentation celebrates Africa’s cultural heritage and creates a “passionate portrayal of the splendor of human creativity.” Carol Beckwith and Angela Fisher record the disappearing diversity of the sacred rituals of birth, death, courtship, leadership and healing before it is too late.

A book signing in the lobby follows the talk. Books may be purchased at SJIMA and held for you for the event. Masking may be required.
