Jensen’s art transforms the Atrium Gallery, imbuing it with light and the aesthetic traditions of his Norwegian forebearers.
“For me the image of the boat is meant to symbolize a voyage or journey. Perhaps it is the voyage to the other side, or the journey to the unknown.” Steve Jensen
Join us this Friday, March 5, in celebrating Jensen’s installation and SJIMA’s opening after months of closed doors. Steve Jensen has been a working artist for over 30 years. The image of the boat is very personal to him as it incorporates his heritage, his background growing up on and around boats and boat-building, and his own personal journey of recovery from extreme grief and loss.
The Artists’ Registry Show featuring 70+ artists is held over until May 31.
