The County Fair Giving Campaign is almost here!

For the first time in three years, San Juan Islanders will get together in person for four days of community celebration, education, and entertainment at the San Juan County Fair. To help translate that community spirit into action in the weeks and months that follow, The San Juan Island Community Foundation (SJICF) is preparing to launch its 2022 County Fair Giving Campaign.

This year, 30 island nonprofits are working with SJICF to raise funds for a broad array of community-focused projects during the four days of the Fair.

The San Juan Islands Museum of Art (SJIMA) is raising funds for an exciting expansion to our Docent Program as follows:

Explore. Excite. Educate.

This new docent program will expand accessibility to SJIMA’s world-class exhibitions for children in K-8. We plan to develop age-appropriate guided tours and a syllabus to train future docents.

Program development includes the study of other museum programs for children, interviews, research, role-playing, private training classes, and printing.

SJIMA aims to provide arts engagements that bring meaning and joy into our human experience.

Fundraising Goal = $ 2900

SJICF MATCHING GRANT FUND DRIVE

To amplify each nonprofit’s fundraising efforts and help ensure the success of their projects, SJICF is matching the first $1,000 in donations to every project during the campaign dollar-for-dollar. Each project is also eligible for up to $2,500 in bonus grants awarded by SJICF throughout the Fair. You can donate online from Aug. 17-20 by clicking the button below.

And make sure to visit the SJIMA booth and enter to win a painting by a local artist!

SEE YOU AT THE FAIR!
